It is super important that the insecticide is a residual insecticide. A residual insecticide is one that keeps working for weeks, or in the Carpet beetle insecticide that we use, months. It will keep killing for 3 months, or, until you vacuum the carpets.

To be an efficient Carpet beetle killer we combine the residual insecticide with an I.G.R.. This chemical means that any eggs that are laid by the adults simply will not hatch out into larva, it is the larva, not the adult beetle, that does all the damage to your carpets. To get rid of carpet beetles, we must break the life cycle of the beetles, just killing the adults is less than pointless.
Usually, your Carpet beetle problem will have started because you were just unlucky. Carpet beetle infestations begin because an adult Carpet beetle flew through an open window, found your organic carpet, laid eggs, larvae hatch out and start to eat your carpet. You, your family, dogs, cats and any other animals, including fish, will need to be out of the home whilst we spray our Carpet beetle treatment. You will need to stay out until the carpets are all touch dry, usually around 5 hours, depending on outside and internal temperatures.

WHAT PREPARATION DO YOU NEED TO DO?
The preparation that you need to do before we come to get rid of your Carpet beetles is really easy.
Basically it's time to get that vacuum cleaner out. A very thorough vacuuming is essential before we apply our Carpet beetle destroying treatment.
It is important to get under any furniture as carpet beetles like the dark, hidden away places, under beds, sofas, wardrobes, etc. Another favourite place for them to lurk is behind T.V. units, so pull the unit out, and get that vacuum working.
Use a vacuum with nozzle attachments too. You will need to pay special attention to the edges of the carpets as this is also an area where the carpet beetle larvae collect.
Please make sure that you empty the contents of the vacuum into an outside bin, otherwise the larvae and eggs will find their way back to your carpets in weeks or months' time, when there will be no insecticide there to kill the carpet beetles!

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO POST TREATMENT?
This one couldn't be easier. You do no vacuuming for 3 weeks. None, zero, absolutely no vacuuming for 3 weeks. The 3 weeks is very important. Not 2 weeks and six days, 3 full weeks. If you do vacuum, it is likely that the carpet beetle infestation will return. So DO NOT vacuum for 3 weeks, please.
